A blanket ladder like this one Dean made me is one of my favorite ways to store blankets. It keeps them off the floor, makes them easy to grab, and doubles as decor.
3. Store Seasonally in Vacuum-Seal Bags
Seasonal blankets like full-size quilts can take up so much space. Vacuum-seal bags are a lifesaver! They compress bulky items, making them easy to store under the bed or in a closet.
4. Add an Ottoman with Storage
If you’re short on space, a storage ottoman is a great option. It keeps your blankets hidden but close at hand—and gives you extra seating or a place to rest your feet.
5. Use a Linen Closet or Shelf
If you have a linen closet with space, neatly fold and stack your blankets by size or type. I love the idea of shelf dividers to keep everything in place.
6. Hang Blankets in a Closet
For bulkier blankets or guest bedding, hanging them on sturdy hangers or specialty blanket hangers is a great option. It keeps them wrinkle-free and easy to find.
7. Rotate Seasonally
I keep only the blankets I need for the current season easily accessible. The rest get stored away, ready to be rotated back in when needed.
8. Create a Blanket Wall
If you don’t have a lot of floor space, try storing your throw blankets on hooks on the wall. I did this in our living room (with Dean’s help, of course) and it’s the perfect solution. It also has the added bonus of making the room feel cozier by adding a lot of visual texture.
